I quite like sharpe but i have a problem here with the fact that when i open a web browser in say virtual desktop 1 then switch to virtual desktop 2 and try to open firefox it opens a tab in the program on desktop 1

We are working on a help system that will be included in SharpCenter. We hope to have it ready for 0.8 Final.

Rebooted again after playing with some of the settings and now I have them. Is there a Help file?

They should appear in the bottom toolbar. Check your settings for the filters of the Taskbar module.
